CHOOSING THE RIGHT MODEL
Choosing a commercial grill
Salamanders finish and gratinate; contact grills toast both sides at once; toaster grills do toast and melts fast.
Rise and fall
A rise and fall salamander lets you set the distance from the heat for each dish.
Ribbed or flat plates
Ribbed plates mark paninis and steaks; flat plates suit toasties and wraps.
Check power
Larger units may need a 15 amp outlet. Check the plug type.
